πŸ‘¨β€πŸš€ Me

I like making the pieces fit. From blue-sky work and prototyping to implementation and deployment, I’ve worked across the value chain in game development, commercial software, and bush regeneration. I like to build a holistic picture of a problem and bring everyone along the garden path to solving it together.

I am used to wearing many hats, but feel most comfortable with my hands deep in the design and connected to the real world impacts we’re achieving. Although most of my recent experience is industry-based bespoke web apps, I am always looking at broadening my search for interesting problems to solve.

VoxelNET is an advanced data exploration platform designed to uplift the value of Australian commodities. As data is collected from a site on Earth, it is indexed by both a timestamp and a geolocation (a voxel) and stored in client managed clouds. VoxelNET’s visualization stack aggregates changes to voxels and renders a full historical record of the real world site. We leveraged internal tech to track discrete volumes of material as they change hands across the globe - leading to a strategic partnership with Everledger to serve the supply chain certification space.

Joining as UI/UX Designer, I began working on the visual identity of the platform; creating pre-visualisations & concept art, running discovery workshops for internal and external stakeholders, and creating web component libraries in Figma for our developers to splice together into bespoke web frontends.

As VoxelNET started to pick up momentum, I also picked up the development hat and joined the frontend implementation team as a software engineer. Outside of my robust experience with the Unity/C# package for visualization, I picked up a modern understanding of software development methodologies, and a modern development stack (React + Typescript, MongoDB, Playwright & Jest).

Having a good understanding of the core technology and optimizing across our tech stacks regularly, I stepped into a Solution Architect role to take a more structured approach to our integrations with external clients that were growing in scope and number. I was also able to support the teams needs and represent the value of the technology to stakeholders and throughout the commercialization process.

Word Laces is a word puzzle game created as an original release for the new Apple Arcade service. I initially worked as a UX and VFX developer to add some final layers of polish as befits an exclusive Apple title. I have since worked on multiple updates to the game; adding new gameplay features, UX improvements, and chasing down feedback issues. I worked remotely in a small team with weekly agile sprints and standup meetings.
